Local check of extrusions (Topic: 12031)

When designing an extrusion it is of importance to check points and areas where the local stresses can be high or it can be a risk for local buckling.

Typical examples of parts in an extrusion with high stresses are:

- Cantilevered parts of the extrusion where the load is acting

- Thin parts of the extrusion under compression and/or bending

- Net areas around holes
