The rules are based on the work with the new Norwegian aluminium standard and
the section which deal with passive fire protection. This standard will
probably be published during 1993, and will be the first standard for structural
aluminium which has a section for fire technical calculation of aluminium alloy
structures.
The rules presented in this section are curves and tables for calculating the
metal temperature of insulated structures. This metal temperature must be used
to find the strength of the aluminium alloy at this temperature. Then the structure has to be analysed with this reduced strength for code
checking against the loads in the fire situation.
