Sawing

Sawing is one of the most common methods to machine aluminium. Almost every extruded section will, in one way or another, will be sawn.

A saw suited for cutting aluminium is characterised by teeth spaced well apart, large gullets, correct rake and clearance angles and provision for ample chip clearance. Circular saws and band saws are the most common types, but also hack saws may be used.
