Free cutting alloys (Topic: 16171)

Free cutting alloys can be obtained from alloys of AlMgSi- or AlCu6- type with additions of lead or bismuth (EN AW-6012).

Benefits:

- High cutting speeds in all types of operation

- Good, even surface quality

- Fragmented chip that do not build up on the face of the tool

- Low tendency to chatter

- Very low risk of tool damage

- Very low tool wear

- No build-up on the face of the tool
