Adhesive bonding of aluminium is a comparatively new joining process. The last decades rapid development in this area have resulted in a considerable use of adhesive bonding for joining aluminium to aluminium or to other materials.

As well as other joining methods, adhesive bonding has some advantages and disadvantages. The result is strongly dependent on joint design, choice of adhesive, surface preparation and the bonding process.
