The bonding process should be performed as soon as possible after the surface preparation. The adhesive application method might be brushing, spraying, dipping, roll coating, knife coating or melting. The adhesive may also be applied as an adhesive tape. It is very important to distribute the adhesive as a uniform film of the correct thickness.

After assembly most of the adhesives should cure without any displacement of the joined parts. This is normally performed in a fixture where pressure is applied to the joint.
