Riveting (Topic: 17120)

Riveting is an old method for permanent joining. It is often used in highly loaded constructions, particularly if a decrease in strength from i.e. welding is unacceptable. Originally riveting was done with solid rivets, but today there are several different types of blind riveting methods available. Punch riveting is a new method used in automotive manufactoring.
