Screws and through-bolts are suitable fasteners in aluminium structures. Screw connections are often used in joints that require to be dismantled and in joints where high clamping forces are requested. Screw joints might be very rational and economic, especially in constructions of extruded profiles.

The characteristics of screw joints are strongly dependent on the choice of screw material, screw type , joint design and joining procedure.
